What are the French Tech Capitals and Communities?

The French Tech Capitals and Communities network is present throughout France and around the world.

It includes 19 certified Capitals and 28 certified Communities in France, as well as 78 certified Communities internationally, thereby covering all innovation ecosystems worldwide.

Its goal is to bring together and engage innovation stakeholders in their regions and mobilize them around joint initiatives that align with the public policies promoted by the French Tech Mission and reflect their local characteristics.

As a driver of regional attractiveness, the French Tech network enables local stakeholders to contribute to the growth of startups and scale-ups by supporting them throughout their journey: from creation to financing, from bringing innovative solutions to market to scaling up and international expansion.

19 French Tech Capitals, ambassadors for the tech ecosystem at the regional level.
Located in France (metropolitan France or overseas territories), they bring together local stakeholders, facilitate dialogue with public institutions, and help shape national strategies to support innovative companies. Their in-depth knowledge of their regions makes them key partners in implementing public policies.
28 French Tech communities across France, structured and autonomous groups
They bring together local stakeholders—startups, scale-ups, investors, local governments, and major corporations—around a shared strategy. They serve as the first link in a network that fosters entrepreneurial activity, energizes local communities, and facilitates connections.
78 French Tech communities worldwide, spread across 57 countries
These communities help promote French tech internationally by strengthening established markets on the one hand and opening up new entry points on the other. They support the international expansion of French startups and scale-ups and promote the French tech ecosystem abroad. Their activities are carried out in close collaboration with local representatives of Team France Export.
