The French Tech Mission is taking a new step forward in its commitment to diversity with the launch of French Tech Nova, the national programme dedicated to accelerating start-ups led by entrepreneurs from under-represented backgrounds.
French Tech Nova aims to make diversity a driver of competitiveness, innovation and value creation for the French economy.
The programme aims to identify, support and nurture a new generation of French tech champions, by giving high-potential entrepreneurs the means to scale up their businesses more quickly.
High-level support to accelerate the growth of start-ups led by entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds
French Tech Nova is aimed at start-ups that are already established and have demonstrated their growth potential, but which may face practical obstacles to their growth: funding, access to strategic networks, visibility and market access.
The successful applicants will benefit from a six-month intensive support programme based in particular on:
-
Specialist modules focusing on the key drivers of growth: funding, business development, institutional relations, international expansion and visibility.
-
Targeted mentoring provided by experienced entrepreneurs and leading figures in the tech sector
-
Exclusive access to a network of investors, senior executives from major corporations, experts and public decision-makers committed to supporting the growth of the award winners
-
Ongoing access to the French Tech ecosystem as an alumnus: high-profile events and participation in international delegations, as well as business networking opportunities with public and private sector stakeholders.
I am delighted to be taking on the role of ambassador for French Tech Nova. Entrepreneurial talent can be found everywhere, but it does not always receive the recognition it deserves.
Through my career and my media platform, which aims to highlight those who make a positive impact, I’ve been fortunate enough to meet many entrepreneurs with exceptional potential. I’m proud to support the emergence of future champions of French tech.
The criteria for identifying the future champions of French tech
-
Business maturity: applicants will need to demonstrate their ability to scale up, based on a number of maturity indicators, including turnover, client portfolio, user base, funding and recognition within the ecosystem.
-
Diversity of backgrounds: French Tech Nova is aimed at entrepreneurs whose profile, background or region of origin remain under-represented within the French tech ecosystem. The eligibility criteria specifically take into account female founders, entrepreneurs from priority neighbourhoods under urban policy (QPV), rural areas, people with disabilities, and other circumstances set out in the call for applications.
-
Entrepreneurial leadership: the judging panel will assess the candidate’s ability to champion an ambitious entrepreneurial vision, drive the development of their business, represent the French Tech Nova programme and inspire other entrepreneurs.
-
Innovative and technological nature of the solution developed: the French Tech Nova programme is aimed at start-ups developing an innovative solution based on a significant technological component and demonstrating strong growth potential.
