French Tech goes on the offensive in India

Technologie

In February, the French Tech mission will accompany a delegation of 15 French companies to the World AI Summit in Delhi, during the French President's visit. The delegation will be led by the French Tech mission management, represented by Julie Huguet and Lucie Finet.

To produce technological champions, our start-ups and scale-ups must expand internationally. This is particularly true in artificial intelligence, where markets are rapidly taking shape on a global scale. The French Tech mission is implementing this strategy by targeting deep markets and building lasting economic alliances.

Why India?

India has a population of 1.4 billion and more than 850 million internet users. It is a continental-scale market, capable of rapidly deploying technological solutions in health, mobility, industry and environmental transition.

The recent signing of a free trade agreement between the European Union and India further opens up access to this market and facilitates industrial and technological partnerships for French companies.

For French companies looking to scale up, it is a natural springboard for growth.

Transforming diplomatic time into market access

The World AI Summit brings together more than 100 countries and nearly 40,000 public decision-makers, investors and major international groups to discuss key issues such as health, ecological transition, defence and critical infrastructure. In just a few days, companies can meet with contacts that would otherwise take months to approach.

The French Tech mission prepares these companies in advance with the Team France Export network, in conjunction with La French Tech India, Business France, diplomatic posts, CCIs and French Foreign Trade Advisors. The programme includes qualified meetings and follow-up to convert these contacts into concrete partnerships.

The companies supported

The delegation brings together companies from the French Tech Next40/120 and French Tech 2030 programmes, including Pigment, Gleamer, Harmattan AI, Qevlar AI, BlaBlaCar, Dessia Technologies, Inbolt, QbitSoft | Quantum as a Service, Quandela, Sekoia.io, Shark Robotics, H Company, WhiteLab Genomics, Agryco (formerly Agriconomie) and GLIMPS.

These companies develop high-impact artificial intelligence solutions in strategic sectors such as healthcare, defence, industry and quantum technology. Their objective is clear: to improve essential services, strengthen the resilience of our infrastructure and bring useful innovations to as many people as possible. This approach, focused on real and measurable uses, echoes the theme of the Summit and the French vision of reliable, sovereign AI that serves progress.

A mission focused on the field

The delegation will attend a series of commercial meetings, industrial gatherings and institutional events in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. The aim is to gain a concrete understanding of how the Indian market works, its key players and its business practices in order to create lasting partnerships.

Being on the ground, forging the right alliances and opening up markets is part of the French Tech mission’s approach to accelerating the internationalisation of French companies and bringing forth technological champions.
