What are French Tech Capitals and Communities?

The French Tech network of Capital Cities and Communities is present throughout France and around the world. Its goal is to bring together and engage innovation stakeholders in their regions, rallying them around shared initiatives that align with the public policies promoted by the French Tech Mission while reflecting local characteristics. As a driver of regional attractiveness, the French Tech network enables local stakeholders to contribute to the growth of startups and scale-ups by supporting them throughout their journey: from creation to funding, from launching innovative solutions to scaling up and expanding internationally.

The French Tech network consists of three types of labeled structures:

Based in France (mainland or overseas territories), they unite all local ecosystem stakeholders—including businesses, associations, support organizations, public services, investors, large corporations, SMEs, mid-sized companies, and research centers—to foster the emergence, growth, and excellence of French technological and innovative companies.

They serve as the local hubs of the French Tech network, both in mainland France and the overseas territories. Leveraging the key tech sectors established in their regions, they drive ecosystem engagement tailored to the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and local stakeholders, while rallying partners to support their mission.

Present in several countries worldwide, their role is to support the international expansion of French startups and scale-ups and to promote the French tech ecosystem globally. They carry out their initiatives in close collaboration with local representatives of Team France Export.o
