The French Tech Next40/120 brings together France’s most successful scale-ups and supports them as they scale up and expand internationally.

The 120 winners selected in 2026 embody, more than ever, technological excellence and a contribution to major economic and societal challenges. Open to all sectors, the selection confirms the ability of French companies to develop innovations that transform everyday life: healthcare, learning, working, recruiting, invoicing or consuming in new ways.
These champions are active in the most strategic technologies: AI, quantum computing, biotechnology and aerospace. The French Tech Next40/120 supports these winners who are building the technological capabilities underpinning the industrial, energy and digital sovereignty of France and Europe.

A selection process that recognises performance, technological excellence and contributions to major contemporary challenges.
The French Tech Next40/120 programme is evolving to reflect current challenges: find out about the selection criteria, which are aligned with economic and societal priorities.
- Head office in France
- Company established on or after 1 January 2006
- Unlisted company
- Evidence of innovation since 2022, via at least one of the following:
- Patent applications (or pending)
- Innovation grants (Bpifrance, France 2030, Europe, etc.)
- Tax schemes (CIR / CII), with supervision of the holding structure by subsidiaries
- Capital independence:
- Maximum 25% held by a large group
- At least 75% held by an independent entity
- Sound financial health: exclusion of negative equity
- Alignment with the programme’s values: exclusion of incompatible activities
- Environmental and social commitments: a measure of environmental impact and gender equality in the workplace
The 120 companies in the French Tech 120 are selected on the basis of an equal split: sixty winners recognised for the scale of their fundraising and sixty winners selected on the basis of their revenue and growth momentum.
- 60 economically successful scale-ups:
- ≥ €20 million in turnover
- ≥ 15% average annual growth over 3 years
- 60 scale-ups with significant funding: the largest amounts raised between January 2022 and April 2026
A selection committee chooses 40 companies (Next40) from among the 120 shortlisted: those that best embody technological excellence in the public interest, as well as those whose dynamism makes a significant contribution to the economy’s competitiveness and to improving citizens’ lives.
In 2026, the French Tech Next40 selection committee comprises the following members:

French Tech Next40/120 winners receive support in pursuing their development ambitions in France and internationally , and in resolving the challenges they face, whether day-to-day or structural. The Mission French Tech team carries out over 250 support initiatives per month, organised around five key areas:
